1933
On 1 June 1933, Erwin Klein Sr. founded our company, which specialised in the occupational safety sector right from the start. Even then, the manufacture and sale of respiratory protection equipment was a focal point of the company’s activities.
1950
The trademark ‘EKASTU’ – Erwin Klein Arbeitsschutz Stuttgart – is legally protected and over the years develops into a synonym for good quality occupational safety products in the specialised trade.
1962
Participation in DIN committees and later CEN and ISO committees provide the company with the best conditions for constantly adapting its products to the latest technical developments
1965
The company moves into its business premises at Gutenbergstr. 75. The expansion of the product range and the high turnover of goods had made this move necessary. At this time, the C 60 gas protection mask is introduced to the trade just as successfully as the first version of the Colorex half mask.
1986
In April 1986, business graduate Wolfgang Klein joins the company and is appointed Managing Director in January 1987.
1992
Participation as the largest shareholder in DPI S.r.l., a former Pirelli subsidiary, and the associated relocation of production to Italy
1998
The company becomes a member of the Interessenverbund Persönliche Schutzausrüstungen e.V. (Association for Personal Protective Equipment). Certification of our Italian production according to ISO 9002.
2007
Opening of EKASTU Safety AG in Nendeln/Principality of Liechtenstein with its own web address: www.ekastu.li.
2008
EKASTU Safety celebrates its 75th anniversary.
2012
Relocation of the EKASTU Safety Group headquarters, including the main plant, to Waiblingen.
2017
EKASTU Safety AG in Nendeln/Principality of Liechtenstein celebrates its 10th anniversary.
2018
Be even better and more up to date. EKASTU Safety launches the new homepage.
2021
EKASTU Safety AG relocates its headquarters to Mauren, Principality of Liechtenstein.
2022
Certification of EKASTU Safety according to the quality management standards ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, especially for medical devices.
2023
The succession of the traditional manufacturer EKASTU Safety has been secured for another generation: Carina Klein has been appointed sole authorised signatory.

In addition to their involvement in the DIN standards committee ‘Precision Mechanics and Optics’ (respiratory protection), the EKASTU safety experts are now also a permanent member of the technical committee ‘Laboratory Equipment and Laboratory Facilities’ (medical devices).
